Format guides

Pick the format the employer is actually expecting

A fresher resume, a campus placement resume, a job biodata and an academic CV are four different documents with four different section orders. Each guide sets out what belongs where, then hands you a template already built that way.

Fresher guide

Resume format for freshers

A fresher resume is one page, in reverse-chronological order, single column. Contact details, career objective, academic record with percentage or CGPA, skills, projects, internships and training, certifications, achievements, then personal details and declaration if the employer expects them.

Simple resume format

A simple resume format uses one column, one font, standard section headings and no graphics. Contact details at the top, then a short summary, experience or projects, education, and skills. Everything else is optional.

Biodata guide

Biodata format for a job

A job biodata leads with personal particulars, followed by educational qualifications with marks, work experience, skills, and a signed declaration with place and date. It is used mainly for public-sector, bank and administrative applications; private-sector employers expect a resume instead.

Placement guide

Campus placement resume

A campus placement resume is one page and puts eligibility facts where they can be found in seconds: branch, year of passing, CGPA, backlogs if asked, then projects, internships, skills and certifications.

CV format for a job

For most jobs, send a one or two page resume. Send a full CV for academic, research and teaching posts, where publications and teaching history matter. Send a biodata only when a form or notification asks for one.

Declaration for a resume

A resume declaration is one sentence at the foot of the page stating that the information given is true, followed by place, date and your signature above your printed name. It is expected on biodata and many campus and public-sector applications, and optional elsewhere.

Career objective for a resume

A career objective is two lines naming your qualification, your strongest relevant skill, and the specific role you are applying for. Freshers benefit from one. Experienced candidates should usually write a professional summary instead.
